Service Animal Policy
Keeping Kids City Safe, Inclusive, and Child-Friendly
Kids City is a play facility designed especially for babies, toddlers, and young
children. To maintain the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and comfort for all
our guests — while complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — we
have established the following service animal policy.
What Is Allowed?
We welcome ADA-compliant service dogs that meet all of the following conditions:
Individually Trained
The dog is individually trained to perform a specific task for a person with a disability.
Under Full Control
The dog is under full control of the handler at all times.
Housebroken.
The dog is housebroken.
Approved service dogs are allowed in:
-
Lobby and check-in areas
-
Common seating and café table areas
-
Parent viewing areas outside of gated play zones
Note: Emotional support animals, therapy dogs, or pets are not permitted, even with
documentation or ID cards. The ADA only protects trained service animals.
To protect the health and safety of young children, service dogs are not allowed
inside any play structures or active play areas, including:
-
Infant and toddler zones
-
Enclosed soft play areas
-
Ball pits, climbing structures, or slides
-
Sensory and imaginative play spaces
These areas are reserved for children only and must meet strict standards for hygiene,
allergy prevention, and safety.
When a Service Dog May Be Asked to Leave
Even if a dog is a legitimate service animal, we may ask it to leave the facility if it:
-
Is not housebroken
-
Is out of control (e.g., barking, lunging, jumping, pulling, or wandering)
-
Causes disruption to the play environment
What Staff Are Allowed to Ask
To protect your privacy and remain compliant with the ADA, our team may only ask:
1. “Is this a service dog required because of a disability?”
2. “What task has the dog been trained to perform?”
Staff will not ask for:
-
Documentation or ID cards
-
The dog to wear a vest
-
Details about your disability
Optional Service Dog Identifier (For Guest Comfort)
Many of our young guests are curious about animals. To help children understand that
your dog is working and not a pet, we encourage — but do not require — handlers to
wear or display a visual identifier.
We may offer a free “Working Service Dog” sticker at the front desk that you can
place on the dog’s leash or your shirt. This is entirely optional and helps other families
feel informed and at ease.
Thank you for helping us keep Kids City clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
